Information for healthcare professionals

Our services include manual lymphatic drainage, nursing assessment, swelling measurements, compression bandaging, garment measuring and fitting, skin care, movement guidance, and self-management teaching. Care is provided within the treating practitioner’s qualifications and scope.

Post-operative appointments can include skin and incision assessment and wound-care education. Dressing changes and genital decompression are not provided. We do accept patients with drains or wound VACs, as we can work around the sites. The treatment is very gentle and safe post-operatively. 

Adults and children may be considered; a parent or guardian attends a child’s visit.

• Active cancer-related care requires oncologist approval, including after active treatment has ended.
• Post-operative lymphatic drainage is not provided in the first 48 hours after surgery. A longer delay may be needed based on surgical restrictions and recovery.
• Suspected infection, clot, or other acute concerns require medical assessment before routine treatment.¹

Request the secure receiving route before sending records. Please include:

• Reason for referral, diagnosis or working diagnosis, affected area, and symptom onset
• Relevant procedures, dates, and lymph-node treatment details
• Current care, medication, compression, precautions, and medical clearance
• Skin or wound concerns, drains, devices, and mobility or positioning needs
• Patient contact details and authority to share information
• Referrer details and any request for an assessment summary

The treating practitioner can provide assessment summaries or progress updates with patient consent. Reporting purpose, timing, recipient, and delivery arrangements are agreed for each case. Jane is used for intake and clinical charting.

Appointments are limited and requests are reviewed individually. Allow up to two business days for a routine enquiry; this is not an urgent referral service.
